Steve “Stevo” Parys started his film career 20 years ago as a Set Production Assistant on Silence of the Lambs. Since then, he has focused on production and has 1st Assistant Directed many, many independent films all across the US. He has also ADed massive 2nd Unit shoots & worked on dozens of big budget Hollywood features in both production and, years ago, locations. He is now one of, if not the, most experienced non-DGA 1st ADs in the nation, as well as being Western Pennsylvania’s only experienced feature film 1st AD.

Steve has worked with many first time directors, as well as many grizzled veterans, helping them each realize their vision. He has shepherded many features from inception, through scheduling, pre-production & throughout filming. Steve leads an efficient, enjoyable, trouble-free shoot, running every aspect of the set, enabling the director to focus on their collaborations with the actors & cinematographer.

He has also ADed hundreds of commercials, videos, shorts, & industrials.

He has been directing more & more projects, including a few feature film 2nd units, countless industrials (winning the Cine Golden Eagle Award for Best Industrial / Best Director), short films (winning a ZXZW Festival Audience Award), commercials, a mini-series for MTV, and a video or two. He has & continues to write many feature scripts & is currently developing the pick of the crop to direct. He also has a studio feature film directing commitment for 2010.

Steve lives on the South Side of Pittsburgh with his wife of thirteen years, Anne, and their two cats, Ed & Chewie.
